II am a California impressionist who paints landscapes in plein air. I was raised in Sonoma County, one of nature's most beautiful rural surroundings, greatly influencing the attraction I have for the outdoors.
Nature is always in a state of change. The landscape will experience many transformations in the span of one day, and this is the challenge I have as a plein air artist. I was skillfully trained in the Hawthorne/ Hensche colorist tradition by artist Camille Przewodek, to see the colors that are made by the constant shifting of light on my subject. I continue to study by closely observing nature and translating onto canvas those places that inspire me to paint.
I also paint larger paintings in my studio from my smaller plein air studies.
I am most excited about what I am going to create next, pushing myself foreword in the studio and on location , always seeking that elusive perfect light that feeds my artistic expression.
